AM I AT A DISADVANTAGE?

I am interested in becoming a competitive bodybuilder. I live in a small city that has one gym of about 6,000 square feet. It has free weights, power racks, leg press, exercise bike and a tanning bed. When I mention it has a leg press I mean one leg press! I really want to compete but I don't know if I could build a good enough physique in a gym like this. I think I look good but wonder if I would be able to put the finishing touches on without the right equipment. Every time I look in a bodybuilding magazine I see bodybuilders training on machines like Hammer Strength, Cybex, Flex, etc. I feel as if I am at a big disadvantage. Can you give me some advice? I would appreciate it. - John Rini, Idaho

John, are you forgetting your bodybuilding history? Let me refresh your memory. Arnold Schwarzenegger came from a small town, and the gym he trained in was very basic. He built one of the greatest physiques with just dumbells and barbells.
